PERFECT RESUME The purpose of a resume is to convince and gain an interview with potential employers! If your resume cannot pass this first hurdle, you will lose out many career opportunities. Crafting a convincing resume is an art as well as a science. It does not mean that when you have an excellent education or a very successful career, you will automatically be able to present yourself convincingly in the resume to your potential employers. The simple reason is, you don't write resumes everyday! Statistically, based on thousands and thousands of resumes we receive each year, only about 1 out of 1,000 resumes is a perfect resume -- meaning it is well written and presented without any technical mistakes. This is 0.1%! What happen to the other 99.9% or 999 resumes? They range from a few careless mistakes to completely cannot be used. The number one most common mistake is not writing about work achievements. It is not good enough to list your responsibilities. It is more important to list your achievements or accomplishments in each organization you have worked. This is where potential employers will be attracted to contact you for interview. The more years of experience you have, the more important is your work performance. Educational qualifications and other credentials are considered a given, and become less significant as you advance in seniority. Companies are most interested in what you can bring in to benefit them immediately. All the rest are secondary. Hopefully, this one tip will help you secure job interviews with potential employers of your choice.
